A truly unique wearable piece of photographic history! This vintage handbag has been expertly crafted from an authentic late 1930s–1940s Ansco Shur Shot box camera, giving new life to a classic American camera. Originally manufactured by Ansco in Binghamton, New York, the Shur Shot was designed for everyday photographers and used 620 roll film to capture life’s memories. The original camera body has been transformed into a functional purse while preserving many of its iconic details, including the front lens surround, twin viewfinder windows, side viewfinder, and metal hardware. A striking translucent cherry-red lucite handle adds the perfect mid-century touch. The interior compartment is clean and surprisingly roomy for carrying your essentials, while the original hinged back door functions as the purse opening with its working latch. Condition is very good with expected cosmetic wear from age and use. There is light surface wear to the lucite handle and some minor cloudiness to the viewfinder window, both consistent with vintage age and adding to its authentic character.
Measurements: Length 5.5”, Height 4”, Width 3.25”
All sales final: It is our mission to disclose all issues found, but all of our items are vintage - which means most of them have been worn or used and may have minor issues. In the event that we have overlooked an issue, it is not because we misrepresented the item, it is because the issue was not apparent enough to demand our attention. We can only apologize for our oversight and hope you can repair the issue, but we do not accept returns for items we have photographed & listed on our website.
