1920s Black Silk Beaded Dress • M
Authentic 1920s solid black, beaded, silk chiffon dress with belts at waist, in very good, wearable condition. The dress is entirely see-through, and its delicate silk chiffon fabric is in miraculously good condition. The following are the issues I found, none of which are very noticeable: some of the beadwork is missing in a few areas; there is some frayed fabric at the right sleeve’s hem; there are two small tears in the fabric at the back of the left shoulder; one of the belts needs a few reinforcing stitches. These issues are documented in our photos, and I hope I found them all. I collected any beads hanging by a thread from the aforementioned areas and have them in a bag that will come with the dress. This dress is designed to fit loosely, and hang from the shoulders to the skirt’s hem without hugging any parts of the body. One fabric label at the inside of the back of the neck reads in handwriting “ ELEC 0974 C21” - see last photo. Again, this is a true vintage dress from the 1920s.
