1980s Brayton International Postmodern White Leather Sofa
1980s postmodern white leather sofa by renowned brand Brayton International. Brayton is known for their innovative designs and commitment to crafting extremely durable seating. This was especially true during their postmodern period, which saw a proliferation of manufacturing & collaborating with various furniture designers, including Walter Knoll, Laurinda Spear, Josep Lusca, and Steve Leonard. This sofa is a clear example of how Brayton worked to combine aesthetics with ergonomics to make something both sensual & sleek without compromising their commitment to crafting hogh-end, quality furniture. Upon inspection, it’s immediately clear that this couch was made for comfort, designed with class, and built to last. The leather is soft and supple to the touch. The cushions on the seats and across the back are plush - neither too soft nor too firm - and retain their shape after use. The seat cushions are large - both wide and deep, and their weight prevents them from moving around, slipping down and/or falling off the front. The back of the couch and its armrests are both low, deep and wide, contributing to the sofa’s sleek, low profile and minimal makeup (while providing the perfect headrest for that midday weekend nap!). Every cushion has a zipper so the cushion covers can be removed for cleaning and/or professional leather treatments. This sofa is in great condition, with most of its “mentionables” being commensurate with its age and use. The seats exhibit some patina to the leather and there are some scuffs throughout.
