Beautiful mid-century Lane cedar “Hope” chest featuring a sleek, low-profile silhouette, and gorgeous natural wood grain throughout. The front showcases a striking symmetrical design with three faux drawer fronts at the center, accented by original sculptural brass-tone pulls with a lovely aged patina. Flanking either side are beautifully detailed horizontal slatted panels, framed by clean architectural lines. A slightly overhanging rectangular top and four tapered wooden legs with black-capped feet complete its classic mid-century look. The hinged top opens to reveal a spacious storage compartment lined with aromatic red cedar! Features original Lane hardware, including the locking mechanism, metal hinges, and interior lid support. The interior retains its original Lane branding, factory markings, and pressure-tested cedar stamp. Even better, the chest still contains its original Lane literature, including the $500 moth damage guarantee and original registration card! Made by Lane Furniture in Altavista, Virginia. In great condition with some wear along the corners and edges, a few small surface scratches, and age-related patina to the hardware, all consistent with its age. A beautifully preserved and functional piece of mid-century furniture with plenty of character and timeless appeal!
