Mid Century Whimsigoth Dining Set
This mid century dining set from the late 60s~early 70s is an exquisite example of the whimsigoth aesthetic, which is currently enjoying a renaissance in both interior design and the fashion industries. As you can see, we are 100% here for it!
Given the movement’s multiple influences, from the mediterranean and medieval to the gothic and Wiccan, this spellbinding set is a statement piece that’s giving all of the above, but will blend well with any one or combination thereof. In other words, it’s going to work with a variety of interiors if you have the vision and confidence to go bold and have fun!
The table and chairs are all extremely well-made out of black “wrought” cast iron and red vinyl. The table top is made of a black, textured laminate that appears to be indestructible, as it remains in near-mint condition, with no issues of note, despite its age. The high-backs of the chairs are a splendid display of ornamental ironwork, giving big Arthurian round table vibes where each seat feels like a throne fit for royalty. Last but not least, the seats swivel full circle. I haven’t found another set like it, anywhere, online!
One seat had one small slit in the vinyl, it is hardly noticeable but merits a mention.
