Absolutely gorgeous mid century walnut dining set by Lane Furniture Co. from their beloved “Rhythm” line with six chairs boasting those coveted “cat eye” ladder-back chairs. The table features a protruding, platform-style apron, upon which the table top is put on display and made more prominent. The table’s primary surface areas (not including the leaves) is trimmed with contrasting strips of walnut, creating a visual border that frames the table’s beautifully patterned walnut grain. There are two leaves present, allowing this table to expand to seat 10. The leaves are beautifully grained and match the primary table top in color (sometimes leaves don’t match the table in color because they are used less - but these look good!) The upholstery on the chairs is in excellent shape, with no issues found - including the cushioning under the fabric. The fabric is a lovely wine red wool with no stains, holes or other issues found. The entire set is in excellent shape. There are minor signs of use commensurate with its age, but nothing that stands out, or attracts the eye enough to merit a mention. There is obvious wear on the captain’s chair’s arms; across the top rung of the chair’s ladder backs; and dings to the chair’s feet - but this is all to be expected with a set from the 1960s. There are ultra-faint water marks on the table top - I could hardly catch them in photographs, but the photos of these are included here. Otherwise, this set is in truly remarkable condition for its age, with its original finish.
We would prefer to sell these as a set. However, do let ha know if you are interested in either the chairs alone or table by itself; if we can find a buyer for the chairs and a buyer for the table - before we find a buyer for the set - then I’m happy to sell them separately.
