Mid Century Thin Edge Headboard by George Nelson for Herman Miller + Queen Teak Platform Bed

$3,500.00
Sold Out

Mid century headboard designed by George Nelson for Herman Miller. This incredibly versatile design includes several signature features and an abundance of storage. One of the most clever contraptions here are the two upholstered pull-out back rests covered in white leather. These simply pull out from the bottom and lock at an incline with metal brackets on each side. Directly above both of these back rests are two doors built in to the headboard’s top that lift up to reveal hidden storage spaces, which are a spacious 2 ft deep each and could easily pack a number of bedspreads, sheet sets, pillows and more. Each side also has an attached nightstand with drop-down doors, spacious cabinets, slide-in walnut trays and more open shelving space below. The drop-down doors double as surface area when open, and the shelves in the bottom cabinets are adjustable. This headboard is made of teak, leather and walnut and comes with its original hardware for attaching a queen size bed. The top of the headboard and one drop-down door has been refinished. The rest is all original.

The platform bed is not original to the headboard but it’s what the original owners were using with it. We have them priced together but let us know if you want to purchase one without the other - if we can find a buyer for each individually, before we find a buyer for both of them together, then we would be happy to sell these separately.

The platform bed was made in Denmark of Danish teak and has two massive, roll-out storage drawers on both sides. This is a rare design as most of these don’t have one, much less two, roll-out drawers, and even fewer come without a built-in headboard and nightstands. Again, let us know if you want the bed and not the headboard, if we can find a buyer for the bed and headboard separately before we find a buyer who wants them both, we will sell them separately.
