This mid century shelving unit is large, in charge and refuses to be ignored. Even with empty shelves it demands your attention with its striking design and warm, walnut wood - imagine it with all of your objets d’ar on display - it’s going to be the focal point & pride of any lucky room it’s moved into.
This beauty is a beast. With six shelves of varying heights, widths and depths, the étagère provides a tremendous amount of surface area to store & display your prized possessions in a visually striking way. This is the perfect place to showcase the collection(s) you love the most - books, pottery, sculpture, glass - every shelf has different dimensions, encouraging and inspiring your staging of all the pretty things that deserve to be seen!
On the right, you’ll find a floating cabinet with a drop-down door that reveals what was designed to be a bar, with an open space to store spirits, and a faux wood grain laminate on the inside of the door. This laminated surface is non-porous & highly spill-resistant - perfect for making drinks.
Below the bar are two commodious drawers with dovetailed joints and handsome handles.
On the left side are two cabinet doors concealing another large, open cabinet space - an ideal place for records on heavy rotation. If you do store records here, the shelf above it would be a great place for your record player.
Last but not least, the back is finished, allowing this to double as a room divider and stand freely in a space, as opposed to up against a wall.
There are a few repairs to the edges of both side panels - one along the front edge of the left side, one small area on the back edge of the left side, and another area along the back edge of the right side. I’ve tried to blend these in a bit better with furniture toner, so that it doesn’t catch the eye. The pictures really enhance the contrast of the color, making it seem more noticeable in the photos than it is to the naked eye.
