Vintage teak hutch by Sun Cabinet Co. from the late ‘70s ~ early ‘80s. Two pieces, with the top simply sitting on the bottom. The top has two glass sliding doors with brass pulls. These open up to two glass shelves on each side. Below the glass doors are three small, felt-lined drawers. The second and third drawers have marks from former candle storage. The bottom of the hutch has three cabinet doors that open up to two adjustable shelves each. The doors are on really nice European hinges that help prevent slamming. This piece has lovely details, like its rounded edges and curved corners. The concave drawer and cabinet door pulls are beautifully carved, and I’ve never seen brass pulls on glass doors like these on a piece from this era. There are recessed disk lights in the ceiling of the hutche’s top but the plug at the end of their joined cords has been cut, so they will need a new plug added to the cord to function. These cost about $10 at a hardware store. Both pieces still have the original sticker label from Sun Cabinet Co. Ltd.
Excellent condition with normal, minimal signs of use and age. There is one indention on the left side of the top; one scuff to back corner of hutch top; there is a missing recessed, disc light in the underside of the top of the hutch in the far back, right corner (not visible, you really have to look for this) See photographs for pictures of all of these.
