Vintage Danish teak expanding dining table from the late 70s. These offer a clever storage solution for its two leaves, which simply slide underneath the main, middle section so that they are hidden, protected and easy to procure as needed. The original owners rarely used the leaves, so they remain in excellent condition. The main, middle section, however, was severely scratched, so I fully refinished this section, and it looks stunning now that it has been restored. One concern when you’re refinishing only one section on these is how well the refinished section will match the pieces that weren’t refinished, and in this instance, it all looks great and surprisingly very uniform across all three sections when they are all out and on display together. The legs are solid teak and subtly tapered. This table is both beautiful, with a gorgeous, intricate grain, and a smart design with storage space built-in. As we say, over and over again, they just don’t make them like they used to!
Excellent condition. One dark area on the right leaf, probably a water stain. A hole was drilled into the edge of the left leaf for some reason; that has been filled in and made less obvious.
