An absolutely stunning antique Rococo Louis XV style fireplace screen featuring an elaborately detailed gilt cast metal frame with beautiful scrolling curves, sweeping acanthus leaves, floral embellishments, and intricate openwork throughout. The gracefully shaped frame surrounds a fine black diamond-patterned metal mesh screen, with a decorative central motif featuring two sculpted cherubs flanking an ornate flaming torch. A beautifully detailed crest crowns the top, while additional floral and foliate scrollwork adorns the lower edge. Supported by beautifully sculpted, outward-sweeping feet with matching Rococo detailing. The rich gold-tone finish has developed a lovely aged patina, with darker areas highlighting the depth of the intricate metalwork.
