This collectible vintage brooch was designed by Kenneth Jay Lane for Jackie Onassis, who famously wore it to a book party in Manhattan in 1991. Crafted out of a brushed satin, gold-plated diamanté star encrusted with large crystal rhinestones. The back features the pin’s hardware, and an additional metal loop allowing it to double as a pendant for a necklace or a choker. Also on the back is the maker’s mark, “KJL”. The original brooch owned by “Jackie O” sold at auction for almost $20k! These are now a permanent part of KJL’s line, but the vintage collection from the ‘90s are few and far between, and harder to find, making this a highly sought-after and desirable work of wearable art history. More than anything, it is a stunning piece of jewelry with a timeless design that evokes the decadence of the art deco era, the whimsy of the atomic era, and the pizzazz of the 1990s!
