1920s/30s Floral Lace Lingerie Cover Up Dress • S
Late 1920s ~ 1930s all lace lingerie cover up dress, in incredible condition, with no sign of wear. The ecru net lace is embellished all over with pastel pink floral embroidery, and gold satin ruffled ribbon is found along the entirety of every hem, including those surrounding the arm holes. There is a seam at the waist but there is no closure or cinching in of any kind, although it appears there may have been small metal snaps for closure at the waist, no longer present. See condition section below. That would have made this more of a dress cover up than a jacket, which makes more sense to me, given its style and cut. The back hem is much shorter, or cropped, in relation to that of the two front panels. A beautiful example of flapper era fashion and antique lingerie.
Condition: I have only found one small opening at the right shoulder on the seam, not a tear in the lace; and some distress to the ribbon on the front at the waist line where there may have been small metal snaps as there is a faint impression in the fabric that looks like a snap button. Both of these issues are photographed. Otherwise, this appears to have never been worn, and has no other issues. I haven’t found any tears in the lace, or any other issues of any kind.
Size: This is designed to fit loosely, and would best fit as a size small. Measurements (Laid flat, and doubled): bust 40” waist 44” Hips full and open with open side seams Length 27”-39”
