1930s ivory silk underwear with cutouts on the sides. I can’t find another pair like them or any information regarding this style of underwear or the purpose of the cutouts. Perhaps it allowed an easier removal of stockings from garter belts without having to remove the underwear. All of the trim is embellished with lace and there is more embroidery across both sides of the front. The waist is elastic, and these are high waisted. The silk is soft and velvety.
Condition: these antique underwear appear to have never been worn. No spots or stains; no rips or tears. The elastic is still super stretchy and in great shape. These are clean all over with zero sign of wear.
