A fantastic men’s 1940’s loop collar button-down in a lightweight gray linen/rayon blend with incredible texture and character. The fabric features a subtle woven windowpane pattern created with raised vertical and horizontal threads, giving the otherwise understated gray color plenty of visual interest! Classic 1940’s details include the relaxed open loop collar with top button closure, straight easy-fitting silhouette, long sleeves with button cuffs, and a single patch pocket at the chest with softly rounded lower corners. Finished with small pearlescent buttons down the front and at the cuffs.
One of our favorite details is the construction itself — the interior reveals beautifully simple period finishing, and this shirt has clearly lived a life. There are a couple of loving mends on both sleeves, including carefully stitched repairs and interior patches. Rather than taking away from the piece, we think these repairs add to its charm and history, showing just how much the original owner loved and wore this shirt!
