1940’s-1950’s Men’s Chartreuse Gabardine Button Down • M

$195.00

Rare 1940s–1950s men’s bright chartreuse gabardine button-down shirt in an incredible statement-making color! Cut in a classic mid-century men’s silhouette with a relaxed, straight fit, long sleeves, and a sharply pointed spread collar. The lightweight gabardine has a smooth finish with a subtle sheen and beautiful drape. Finished with contrasting glossy black buttons down the front and at each cuff, plus a button at the collar. A large single patch pocket sits at the chest with a distinctive pointed bottom and subtle gathering along the upper edge. The back features a wide shoulder yoke with softly gathered fabric beneath, providing extra ease and fullness through the body. Long sleeves finish with simple buttoned cuffs, while the gently curved shirttail hem completes the classic menswear construction. The vivid chartreuse yellow-green color is especially striking and feels quintessentially mid-century — a fantastic and unusual shade to find in original men’s clothing from this era. A rare statement piece! In great vintage condition overall with age-appropriate wear. There is one small hole on the upper left shoulder and a very faint stain on the lower left sleeve, both shown in photos. The shirt presents beautifully and remains very wearable.

Measurements: Chest 41”, Waist 41”, Shoulder 19”, Sleeve 23”, Shoulder to Hem 30.5”
