1940’s Men’s Linen/Rayon Blend Loop Collar Button Down

$95.00

A beautiful men’s 1940’s loop collar button-down shirt in a soft dusty taupe hue, made from a lightweight linen/rayon blend with wonderful texture and drape. The fabric features a subtle woven windowpane pattern created by slightly raised horizontal and vertical threads, giving the otherwise understated color plenty of visual interest! Classic 1940’s construction throughout, with a relaxed open loop collar that can also be buttoned fully at the neck, long sleeves, buttoned cuffs, and a single generously sized patch pocket at the left chest with rounded lower corners. Finished with luminous mother-of-pearl style buttons down the front and at the cuffs. The slightly boxy, easy silhouette and lightweight breathable fabric make this such a great menswear piece! One of our favorite details is the evidence of its previous life: there is a lovingly done period mend that has been carefully patched from the inside. The repair remains visible but beautifully illustrates just how much the original owner valued and wore this shirt rather than discarding it — a wonderful bit of history that adds character to an already special piece. There is also one small hole on the right arm, along with light age-related wear consistent with a garment approaching 80 years old!

Measurements: Chest 48”, Waist 48”, Shoulder 19”, Sleeve 24.5”, Shoulder to Hem 27”

All sales final: It is our mission to disclose all issues found, but all of our items are vintage - which means most of them have been worn or used and may have minor issues. In the event that we have overlooked an issue, it is not because we misrepresented the item, it is because the issue was not apparent enough to demand our attention. We can only apologize for our oversight and hope you can either repair the issue or resell the item, but we do not accept returns for items we have photographed & listed on our website.
