Gorgeous Gabardine Ricky Jacket
Gorgeous vintage Ricky jacket from the late 1940s. Wine-red wool gabardine with an iridescence and sheen creating an illusion of multiple shades of dark red and oxblood burgundy across its vertical stripes. The fabric is just fantastic and these attributes truly set it apart from and superior to other coats from the same era. Small built-in shoulders date this to the late 40s, maybe the early 50s, at the latest. Brass Prentice zipper with original oxblood leather zipper pull still attached. Elastic waist around the back still has stretch. Fully lined in ivory satin. Original label still present; reads Lanier Jackets by Oxford, M 38-40. A fetching jacket from the 40s in excellent condition, freshly laundered and pressed!
