1930’s Eisenberg & Sons Velvet Gown • S

$165.00

This exquisite 1930’s Eisenberg & Sons Original gown is crafted from a rich wine-red sik velvet, capturing the opulence and romance of the era. The silhouette is long and fluid, with a graceful drape that skims the figure and falls into a floor-length skirt. The bodice features a soft surplice wrap neckline, gently gathered at the bust. The waist is defined with a wide fitted panel that elongates the torso. The long sleeves are finished with elegant ruching at the elbow before tapering into a slight flare at the cuffs. At the back, fine pleating creates volume and movement through the shoulders, and a stunning blousy curtain effect from the neck to the lower back. A belt is attached below at the lower back to wrap around tie in front. The side closure is constructed with original hook and eye fastenings, characteristic of its time, with a matching. Inside, the original Eisenberg & Sons label is intact, affirming its authenticity and heritage. The velvet itself has a luminous sheen, shifting beautifully with the light! The only issue that merits a mention is a small bit of damage to the fabric at the surplice neckline of the bodice where the former owner put a clasp for a hook, now removed. The hook is still attached to the other side. I think a tailor could make both of these invisible with a little movement of the fabric. Or you could sew a clasp back on in the same spot, and wear this with the neckline closed a bit. Other than that, this dress is in unbelievably excellent condition. No tears, holes, discolorations or other issues.

Bust: difficult to measure because of surplice but will accommodate 34-40” depending on it’s worn, Waist: 28”, Hips 36”, Length (shoulder to hem) 58”
