1940’s Silk Chinese Embroidered Pajama Set • S

$110.00

This striking 1960’s silk lounge set is a true treasure, made in a vivid teal, luxurious silk with a beautiful sheen and drape that both s its shape and freely flows with movement. The top is beautifully detailed, designed in a two-tone palette with creamy satin panels framed by slim red piping. Intricate copper-toned Chinese embroidery dances across the collar, front placket, cuffs, and pocket flaps, while the centerpiece of the jacket features an incredible mirrored pair of embroidered dragons. The closure is finished with three carved turquoise frog knots. The shape is classic mid-century lounge wear with short sleeves, a structured pointed collar, and roomy patch pockets. The matching trousers are made from the same luminous turquoise silk and they drape beautifully on the body as well. They have a flattering high waist with a subtle V-shaped yoke. We believe the back has brand-new elastic. The legs fall straight and smooth, finishing with a wide silk cuff embroidered to match the top for a fully cohesive look. The silhouette of these pants is truly stunning—easy, elegant, and fluid in motion. Altogether, this set is a rare and incredibly detailed example of 1940’s embroidered silk loungewear!

Priced as is. See photographs for all issues but those found are all minimal and hardly noticeable: a very few, very faint spots on sleeves, one pant hem, right leg near knee and back of top. The crotch has been mended, an open seam was closed and could be improved/made to look nicer. I believe the waist has been given new elastic.

Measurements: Jacket-Bust 38”, Waist 34”, Shoulder 15”, Sleeve 9.5”, Shoulder to Hem 25” Pants-Waist 22”-27”, Hips 47”, Rise 16”, Inseam 23.5”
