1950’s Ivory Satin & Tulle Wedding Gown • XS

$325.00

This breathtaking 1950’s wedding gown is an ethereal piece! The perfect blend of romantic and sculptural that has been crafted with an exquisite attention to detail. Made from ivory satin layered with tulle, the dress features a boat neckline and long sheer sleeves finished with a row of satin-covered buttons at each wrist along with a train finger loop to hold the train up. The fitted bodice is shaped with princess seams and dips into a flattering basque waist, creating an hourglass silhouette that flows into a voluminous, floor-length skirt. Throughout the gown, hand-sewn crystal and sequin embellishments shimmer softly, arranged in clusters of tiny flowers and larger tulle rosettes. The embellishment work is beautifully consistent across the bodice and skirt. A side metal zipper secures the fit. The gown remains in remarkable condition for its age, though it does show a few signs of its history. There is a rip in the skirt that has been carefully mended, along with another smaller tear that has not yet been repaired. We considered trimming it but decided to leave that choice to the next owner so they can restore or alter as they wish. There are also a few faint spots on the skirt, most have been lifted with a gentle cleaning, these could likely be lightened even further. Its light wear and gentle age marks only add to its authenticity and story, especially as we have the original newspaper clipping from the bride’s wedding day!
