1940’s Silk Satin Wedding Gown Ensemble • XS

$375.00

A beautiful and increasingly hard-to-find complete 1940’s bridal ensemble, crafted in luminous ivory satin with timeless elegance and exceptional attention to detail. The gown features a flattering sweetheart neckline with a softly sculpted collar, fitted long sleeves finished with fabric-covered buttons at the cuffs, and an expertly tailored chevron-paneled waist that creates a beautifully defined silhouette. The full flowing skirt falls into a dramatic cathedral-length train, making this an unforgettable piece from every angle! The original bridal veil is included and features an attached seed pearl beaded headpiece, a sweeping cathedral-length veil, and a shorter blusher veil that can be worn over the face and then lifted back after the ceremony. Also included is a second coordinating beaded headpiece, extra matching silk satin fabric, the original shoulder pads, the original vintage suitcase used to store the ensemble, and the original metal door hanger for the suitcase. Adding to its wonderful provenance, the dress also comes with a photocopy of the original newspaper wedding announcement, which tells the story of the bride wearing her mother’s satin wedding gown at Duke Chapel. The article also notes that the original veil was lovingly restored using some of its original seed pearls, making this a truly special piece of documented family history! The gown closes with its original metal side zipper and remains in beautiful vintage condition with expected age-related wear. Please review photos carefully, as they are part of the description. A remarkable and increasingly rare complete 1940’s bridal ensemble with its original accessories, documented history, and incredible provenance!
