Mid Century Heywood Wakefield headboard. This is a full size headboard. Each side features a cabinet behind a drop-down door, over another open cabinet with adjustable shelving. Comes with its original, signature “platinum” finish. Marked with its date of manufacture “1945” in handwriting by the makers and stamped “platinum” which is its signature, original finish color. This line by HW from the late 40s/early 50s straddles two of the most influential and enduring eras in furniture design, namely the art deco era and mid century modernism. All that’s to say that the best of both worlds are on display with this one. Solid maple and solid craftsmanship combine into equal parts form and function that was built to last and that will increase in value the more time goes by. The metal frame comes with this bed.
Great condition: structurally in excellent condition, with no issues found. Minor wear to the original finish, all aesthetic issues were thoroughly photographed.
