1940’s black rayon dress with an elegant, fluid drape and gorgeous Art Deco-inspired detailing. Features a softly draped bodice with short flutter sleeves, a fitted waist, and a sweeping A-line midi skirt. The neckline and pointed waist appliqués are beautifully embellished with straw Cordé embroidery and shimmering silver metallic sequins in an ornate scrolling motif. The waist appliqué creates an especially striking, almost bow-like effect at the front. Finished with a side metal zipper for entry and a short metal zipper at the back neckline. A beautiful example of 1940’s eveningwear with just the right amount of sparkle! Some discoloration/fading is present on the sleeves, as shown, consistent with age and wear.
